Who else thinks spending all that time recruiting 6 followers only to immediately have to bench 1 is flawed?

Finally recruited my 5th and 6th followers. Went to send them on a mission. Nope sorry you got too many people. I'm sorry what? I spent days recruiting these people. It's the ONLY 6 followers Blizzard is giving us but nope. You gotta bench one of those guys right away. Why bother? What's the point? Garrisons I understand. You could recruit so many people so yea limiting the amount you can have active made sense. If 6 is the limit why can't I have all 6 going at once? Waste of time.Sorry for the rant. Just really frustrated and don't understand the logic behind that decision.
