On behalf of all enhancement shamans
This isn't just a "please undo all planned hotfixes for 29 january 2019" because enhancement shaman got nerfed as a middle-of-the-pack performing spec.Sure, being nerfed as a shaman already feels bad since we haven't had the greatest track record this expansion in terms of being useful both for utility and in dps numbers, but that's not the entire problem. In terms of design these changes seem to be completely nonsensical as well. The way shaman was designed at the start of this patch seemed like a class designer/balancer's wet dream. There were three distinct different azerite builds, which in turn enabled three different talent builds, which in turn created three distinct playstyles/rotations. Even the stat priorities adjusted slightly, allowing for nearly every piece of both azerite and normal loot to become useful in some regard. But the best thing was, that for (probably) the first time, just about every talent was truly viable (except Fury of Air and Earth Shield, but that's only 2 out of 21 talents). From what Blizzard's said in the past, I thought that they don't like it when only one talent per row is viable and everyone sticks to one cookie-cutter build. This patch eliminated that almost entirely. This was exactly what Blizzard was aiming for, right? Different choices, almost everything is viable. Every piece of loot that you get is a potential upgrade. This was perfect. So why then, after only 1 week, utterly annihilate 2 of those 3 azerite builds? Now, ironically, Blizzard is forcing is back into one single cookie-cutter build. Instead of players being happy with any azerite piece drop in Battle of Dazar'alor, you're now going to only be happy when you get that one azerite piece that turns out to be BiS in the class guides/sims. No longer can you switch your playstyle to your own preference, but are just forced into that one specific playstyle/build that deals the most dps.The three builds were balanced too. The Primal Primer and Strength of Earth builds did better than the default build, sure, but they at least relied on having at least 2 of those traits available and slightly complicated your rotation/ability priority, and on top of that you could perform well enough with just the standard build. Even in regards to other classes/specs they seemed fairly balanced. The SoE and PP builds did great dps single target, probably better than most other classes, but that was balanced by the fact that in AoE they fell behind very quickly. In any case, if Blizzard felt like those two builds did too much dps compared to the other azerite options, they shouldn't have nerfed those two azerite traits, but instead buffed the others. What's happening now is that we move from middle-of-the-pack in terms of dps back to the lower end, while simultaneously removing all the variety enhancement shaman finally had. They completely destroyed an entire spec not just in terms of numbers, but also in terms of variety and playstyle. If that was your aim, then good job Blizzard; you did it!TL;DR: New hotfix removes two out of three distinct playstyles of enhancement shaman; thereby pushing us back from mediocre dps to bad dps, while also undoing their own work of in-class balancing by removing every choice in azerite/talent builds/playstyle that we finally had and sucking all the fun out of it in general. Please revert these changes or at least explain your logic.
