Classic Killed my Retail Guild

No hate or anything, just a sucky situation. A chunk (7 or 8) core members on the progression raid team decided they wanted to go classic instead. This left the rest of the raiding team - those of us simply not interested in playing classic - high and dry.We tried to pick up the pieces and recruit but...wow...it's been almost impossible. This isn't a small server either. Anyway, I'm letting my account expire and not renewing until things settle down.I don't hate on people playing classic, it's just a bummer that because of it, I don't have a viable way to do what I was enjoying in retail.Anyone else in my boat?
We don’t get older, we level! (The bday card I got my boyfriend this year.)

Thought we looked cute all sitting around waiting for questgiver to spawn. When I started sitting on the bench the voidwalker moved and sat near me.

Playing classic genuinely makes me appreciate retail class design

I want to preface this by saying that I really hate BFA class design, it is one of the main reasons I dislike this expansion and stopped playing. However after playing classic spriest I am in awe of how fucking mind-numbingly boring classics design is.At lvl 27 my rotation consists of pre-cast MB, SWP, and proceeding to auto-attack a mob to death. Past this point there are almost no main rotation spells to look forward to with the exception of flay replacing wands, and inner focus which won't change anything since its a 3 min clearcasting CD (from what I have read). I like to make fun of retail shadows 3 button rotation but even that design seems godlike compared to this. There are no interesting interactions between spells, no difficulty in execution, and there barely anything to do. Retail shadow does suffer from some of these issues but man do I miss playing that garbage fucking spec after experiencing classic.

Playing classic makes me realize how I miss so many abilities.

It feels good having both Armor spell and Arcane Intellect on my Mage, and both Lightning Shield and a weapon imbue on my Shaman. So much stuff that added flavor to the game has been taken away. Paladin auras were a classic part of their class, coming all the way from Warcraft 3. I heard they might start de-pruning our abilities though.
I've waited so long to play my favorite childhood game again. It's finally back.

The old-school talent trees and community are nice and all, but I also like the little things WoW classic brings back. Like the park. I get that it's a bigger deal for Druids, but I don't play druid so to me it's nice a really pretty part of Stormwind. What small worldly things do you like seeing?

New Rule in Effect: Art Posts Must be Sourced

Hello everyone!Following our overwhelmingly-supported proposal for a new art sourcing rule, the following is now in effect:Any post flaired as "Art" must be properly sourced. Proper sourcing requires both of the following:The artist's name or handle in the title of the post. Examples: Name/Description of Art [Artist's Name] -or- Name/Description of Art by Artist's NameA top-level comment in the thread that includes a link to the artist's website, social media, or user profile. In cases where the original artist of the piece cannot be found despite a good-faith effort being made, the source/location where you found the art is acceptable; for instance, if you found the piece in a publication that does not list the creator, you may cite that publication (including issue/book number/date of publication, if applicable) as the source.Tattoo posts, while included in the "Art" flair category, are exempt from this rule. You may include artist/studio informati
The real winner for me in Classic compared to Retail is the sensation of not having to do daily stuff or grind "power" every log in and be free to go in and out at will

GIven that i do like both versions for different reasons. But i was thinking what for me made the old days, not only vanilla, a bit more special was the sensation of playing the game whenever you wanted on your "terms" compared to the bombardement of grind for Artifact power/azerite/daily quests/world quests you need to go trough every day n retail, to dont fall "behind the curve".Like seriously to me it feel so forced to have those system like Azerite power or the Legion artifacts into te game, it feels like an unecessary infinite progress you have to go trough just so you "keep playing" but it's actually having the opposite effect at least on me.I really really hope we don't have the next artifact power in the next expansion, it's just a big turnoff for me.
Considering how poor everyone is in Classic, a BIG shout out to all the tailors making bags for free at the major cities! THANK YOU!

With everyone distracted by Classic, Pandaria is empty and it’s been super easy to farm Warbringers. I do a circuit in warmode and then not in warmode and today I got the last two Direhorns I needed in just a couple of hours. Each circuit was guaranteed 1 warbringer. I sometimes got two or more. I also picked up some toys from rares as well. Like the Sky Mirror toy I’ve been trying to get for years. I killed the npc that drops it like 10 times today vs rarely seeing her on other weeks. So mount collectors, nows the time.
Definitely divisive, but I love the slower paced combat in Vanilla

This is coming from someone who never played Vanilla. I play mage on live.It feels like almost a action oriented final fantasy turn based style. Especially if you download swing timer addons and what not too. Duels are more engaging because you have a couple seconds to think between each move, instead of just going balls to the wall like in retail. And this is a big one, spells feel impactful. In BfA you have rotations that you have to follow in order to achieve optimal dps. Vanilla lets you setup these awesome one shot moments with chain lightning/pyroblast and they actually do crazy damage. Makes it feel like the spells actually have weight on their own and aren’t just pieces to a recipe of a rotation.
Enjoying Classic more than I thought and playing both

Let me preface by saying I have never been on the hate-wagon for BfA. I have two good guilds, play both factions and am lucky enough to like the way my classes play.I've been very much of the opinion "I hope people get what they want from Classic, but I probably won't play for more than fifteen minutes." leading up to launch. Mainly because I like the current version of the game and I really like features that won't be in Classic.I have to admit though, I am having WAY more fun than I thought I would. I wanted to break this down and I figured this was the best place to do it - sorry in advance because I am sure this is repetitive for some of you.Why I'm having fun:Not rushing to end game. I am genuinely enjoying the leveling experience more because I am not frantically pushing to the end game. I got to level 12 before logging off last night but I've gotten lost looking for quest objectives and haven't used any optimized routes so I've been spendin
