If Blizzard doesn't want to remove Factions, can they at least remove the "Grey tagging" feature that makes the world quests boring as hell?

Watching my GF playing WoW for the first time and complaining about how horde swarms are everywhere tagging mobs, made me realize how bad this system is. What do you guys think about it?
