Is there an in-universe reason my Windwalker keeps taking off and putting on his fist weapons in the middle of every fight?

This has to be exhausting. Poor guy has to take his gigantic claws off every time I press his most-used ability, then put them back on, then take them off, then put them back on. Does he keep them like...under each arm while he slaps the opponent or... what?
