i should not have to read some redditor's headcanon essay after every single cinematic to have any idea what the fuck is going on in the story

taken on their own, the last 3 cinematics are terrible. they are incredibly poor at communicating information, the characters act in ways that make absolutely no sense, and they are generally not fit for purpose as evidenced by overwhelming community dislike for them.wow's story should not be like this, idk what else to say. cinematics should be exciting. people should enjoy them. they should not have 90% dislikes on youtube. they should not lead to endless reddit threads trying to explain what all the characters REALLY meant with their vague lines that sound like they are tacitly supporting genocide or decided to give up on their life's work because they were triggered by hearing a common word.like its so fucked this is what it's come to. i don't even have high standards for the material. i just want it to be on some level enjoyable. i would love this game's lore to be fun and exciting. instead its like a neverending migraine, each new reveal worse than the last, pointless cosmic bullshit that's impossible to care about, but then even the character focused stuff comes across as a bunch of aliens without real emotions talking about shit that isn't relevant.and btw i don't give two shits about the internal logic of the story and if it all makes sense if you read all the books and tweets. the fact is it's stupid to expect me to be invested enough in ardenweald and the winter queen to think it would be a good thing to send anyone's soul to them. it's just some blue zone we will forget about in 2 years. it was not important enough to make the focal point of the reasoning behind the burning of teldrassil, an event people cared about because it was grounded in the people, places and factions we have come to know and enjoy.i don't care if you can't write a good story. just write a fun one. we have reached the point where having no story at all would be a vast improvement.
